There's not been a lot of panto stuff to do as its all coming to an end. We had a paintcall last saturday to do some touchups and fix the trap door on the floor. Just the odd new addition to paint but nothing too busy. Another paintcall tomorrow to rescue our poor damaged set from the rough hands of the S.M team and to make it beautiful again.
Iv been deciding on a personal project and have finally chosen to do a piece by Alison Dunlop of some draped fabric. Its also continuing my research of photorealism. Im now going to attempt one... It does slightly scare me a little as im not great at managing highlights and shaddows but im sure i will manage it eventually. After all, i did manage my trompe l'oeil paintbrush last year. Iv started drawing it up but have come to a stand still as we have run out of white paint.....and the fabric im painting is white. So hense, the blogging!
An Alison Dunlop piece, similar to the one iv chosen to do. |
Iv also decided im going to attempt a couple of paintings at home for christmas presents and to keep my painting skills up out of uni. Im going to paint a hummingbird for my boyfriends mum and try a Pedro Campos style coke can for my sister, whether she will appreciate an original piece of 'Jude' art is yet to be seen.
Humming bird im going to attempt at home |
Im still really loving being in scenic and feel i have learned a lot this term. I think i will miss it when we start our minors next term but im looking forward to learning more about costume.
